Current Challenges in Computing

OVERVIEW

This conference is a small, highly selective event held in Napa, CA. All speakers and attendees are by invitation only and it attracts a very high level of participant. I joined the team in time to help with the seventh iteration and it was apparent that there was a definite gap between the conference design and the level of the event. I worked with my boss to entirely rebrand the conference. I created a new logo, conference website and all event materials. This effort paid off the following year, as we were able to use the more polished website to attract the attention of the high-level people we were looking to invite.

WEBSITE

My primary goal was to help facilitate the speaker/attendee invitation process which could be quite complicated. The target audience gets invited to so many events, I wanted to showcase the unique qualities of this one and highlight the history of high-level discourse. As we’d finalize the speakers and add them to the site, it would help us attract the rest of the attendees.

EVENT MATERIALS

The success of this event lies primarily in the discussions it generates, so it was really important to get the participants familiar and comfortable with each other quickly. The conference materials featured a booklet of bios and photos of all of the attendees, speaker abstracts and a welcome letter from my boss. I worked with an external printer to create a branded folder to tie everything together in a polished way.
